A Parish Councillor recently attended a workshop hosted by Scottish and Southern Electricity Network to encourage feedback that will enable them to prioritise future strategic objectives and network improvements.  It also highlighted 2 very simple measures that individuals may wish to take to aid communication with the network provider in the event of power failures or emergency situtations:

1.    Any emergency situation concerning the supply of electricity can be reported simply by dialling 105.  It is clearly a good idea to have this number stored on your phone.

2.    There is an App called ‘Power Track’ (Google playstore), which enables the reporting and tracking of power cuts, provides updates and enables the photographic reporting of damage.

And as a warning, don't let this happen to someone you know.
