Vacancy for Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer (RFO)
Droxford Parish Council is seeking to fill a forthcoming vacancy in the post of Clerk/RFO. The ideal candidate will hold, or be willing to commit to obtain, the Certificate in Local Council Administration. Previous experience of working within a Local Authority would be advantageous as would a basic knowledge of accounting. The position is home based for 10 hours per week with attendance required at evening meetings, on average once a month.
The Clerk to the Parish Council is the Proper Officer of the Council and as such as under a statutory duty to carry out all the functions required by law of a local authority’s Proper Officer. The Clerk is further responsible for ensuring that the instructions of the Council as a Local Authority are carried out. The person appointed will be accountable to the Council for the effective management of all its resources and will report to them as and when required.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Accurate administrative and financial skills
Computer literacy with confident knowledge of MS Office applications, internet, email, websites and social media
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst working alone
Salary within the range of £13 - £15 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
